Internal Auditor

Job Description:

To ensure that Caye International Bank is using International Financial Reporting Standards, to create and manage financial information through the review of financial statements and the assessment of the overall efficiency and reliability of control mechanisms; and to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures mandated by the regulators.

Responsibilities include and are not limited to:

Develop an internal audit system that detects and tracks mistakes in data and streamlines risk assessment.
Create criteria for initializing audits and analyze data for reasonable conclusions.
Perform substantive audit on monthly financial reports.
Test operations and make recommendations for improvements in financial controls.
Maintain an inventory of business policies, practices and processes.
Perform inquiries and testing as needed to identify and resolve vulnerabilities.
Develop new audit programs to ensure adequate financial controls.
Make recommendations for financial management about software, policies and audit triggers.
Create and update internal audit plan.
Perform audit of the Compliance Department to ensure consistency with AML/CFT policies and procedures.
Prepare quarterly internal audit reports for submission to the audit committee.
Keep abreast of best practices and new innovations, which impact the internal audit function.

Qualifications:

Associate or bachelor’s degree in business/accounting. Banking experience and knowledge of AML/CFT policy and procedures. This position requires a self-driven individual who exhibits a high level of maturity and responsibility.

Salary will be determined by the candidate’s experience and accreditations.
